World of Work Week 2025

What a fantastic week we had from June 30th to July 4th! It was our special "World of Work Week," and it was all about helping our children dream big about what they can be when they grow up.
All week, our children learned so much about different jobs. They took part in fun lessons from Co-op Careers and tried exciting challenges from Skills Builder. These activities helped them think about the important skills they will need for any job, like teamwork and problem-solving.
We had many wonderful visitors come to our school. They told us all about their jobs, from doctors and builders to artists and scientists! The children loved playing 'What's my line?' where they tried to guess what job our visitors did. It was a lot of fun and helped them learn about so many different types of work.
Year 1 went for a walk around our local area. They looked closely at all the different shops and places and talked about the people who work there. Our Reception children were busy bakers! They sold buns to raise money for their special movie premiere. This helped them learn about working together and handling money. Year 4 had an exciting workshop with IntoUniversity, where they learned even more about different jobs and what they can study in the future.
On Wednesday, everyone spent time with their new teacher for next year in their new classrooms too!
The week ended with a huge celebration, My Future Day. It was so exciting to see everyone dressed up! We had doctors, teachers, police officers, chefs, artists, and so many other amazing future workers. It was a day full of big dreams and smiles!
We also had a very special World of Work Week RESPECT Assembly. In this assembly, we celebrated how well our children showed the 8 Skills Builder Skills, like listening and aiming high. Two children from each class received a certificate for being super skilled!
We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful visitors who came to our school and gave up their time to talk to our children. Your stories and advice truly inspired them and helped them see all the exciting possibilities for their future. We couldn't have done it without you!
It was a week full of learning, fun, and big dreams. We hope all our children feel ready to reach for the stars!
