Invictus Champion Sportivator Event

Our first ever Sportivator Event was a roaring success!

Team Woodlands experiences a truly electric atmosphere as we held our first-ever Great Athletes Sportivator event, hosted by our wonderful Sportivator, Rachel. But the excitement didn't stop there; we were honoured to welcome a real-life hero and Invictus Games champion, Sean Gaffney, who spent the day inspiring our children.

The morning was dedicated to fitness circuits for every child, from Reception all the way up to Year 6! The hall was a hive of energy as the children rotated through four challenging activities designed to test their speed, stamina and strength. The noise of cheering and encouragement was deafening as children pushed themselves and each other to complete the circuits! It was tough work, but the effort and enthusiasm shown by every student were remarkable.

After working up a sweat, the children gathered back in the hall for a very special assembly. Sean shared his incredible, inspiring journey, recounting his challenges and his triumph as an Invictus Games athlete. The children were captivated, and the Q&A session saw some brilliant, thoughtful questions posed to our guest. It was a powerful reminder of resilience, determination and the sheer power of sport.

Reflecting on the day, Sean was incredibly impressed by our wonderful children.

"I was completely blown away with the children's engagement and hard work during the circuits. It’s clear they have a fantastic spirit here, and we had lots of fun. Seeing every child supporting their classmates was brilliant."
