Marvellous Maths morning

Our first ever Marvellous Maths morning as part of Money Confidence week! ðŸ’·

What a brilliant, busy morning we had on Wednesday 5th November. As part of Number Confidence Week, we had a special celebration morning, thanks to our friends at Barclays Bank, aimed at trying to help everyone feel good about numbers!

Our children in Years 3 to 6 kicked off the day with a fantastic time at the Wheel of Numbers live assembly. It was loud, exciting, and full of games! The assembly showed everyone how much fun maths can be and how we use it every day.

We held our first-ever Marvellous Maths Morning, and so many families came to join us!

This session was all about money matters maths. Parents and children worked as a team to learn real-life money skills:

  • Planning budgets: Learning how to save up for something and decide where money should go.

  • Using money: Practising how to spend money wisely and check how much is left.

It was absolutely wonderful to see so many families join us. Everyone was talking, laughing, and working out maths problems together. You could feel the confidence growing in the room!

Miss Charles, our Maths Leader, was thrilled with how much everyone learned:

Seeing our students and their families working on real money problems was truly inspiring. Maths is not just something you do in a book or in lessons; it’s an essential life skill, and it’s fantastic to build number confidence early on. We are already excited for next year!

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came to school. You helped make this a brilliant day for number confidence!
