A Note from Team Woodlands 🫶

It has been another fantastic week here at Woodlands. Walking through the corridors, the energy has been brilliant, our classrooms are buzzing with hard work, curiosity, and plenty of "lightbulb moments."

Most importantly, we are incredibly proud of how the children have lived out our RESPECT Values this week. Whether it’s showing kindness on the playground or determination in their learning, their success is a direct result of the effort they put in every single day.

Every minute counts 👍

To give our children the best possible start to their day, we want to remind everyone about our morning routine. Consistent routines help children feel settled and ready to learn.

School doors open 8:40 AM

Learning begins 8:45 AM

Arriving just 5 minutes late every day adds up to over three days of lost learning across the school year!

Uniform shows we're in it together 👏

We take great pride in our school identity, and seeing the children in correct uniform every day sets a purposeful tone for learning.

Need a hand? We understand that life happens and circumstances change. If you are struggling with uniform requirements or need support, please don’t hesitate to speak to our team. We are here to help.

Keep talking to us: Your child’s teacher is your first port of call for any concerns, big or small. Catch them at the door or arrange a time to chat so we can work together to support your child.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making Woodlands such a wonderful place to learn.

Walk your children to the doors 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Please walk your child all the way to the cloakroom doors every morning.

Why?

  • Safety: The roads and car parks are very busy.
  • Big Smiles: A proper goodbye helps your child feel happy.
  • Peace of Mind: You will know they are safe inside with a teacher.

Easy Steps:

  • Hold hands as you walk.
  • Go to the door together.
  • Wait for a teacher to see your child.
  • Say goodbye and have a nice day!

Thank you for keeping our children safe.

Year 6 take part in Go IT Competition 💻

On Tuesday, some of our year 6 children visited One Angel Square in Manchester for the Co-op Academies Trust Go IT competition! Mrs Akhtar was so proud of this year's chosen team, saying:

"I am immensely proud of our year 6 children, who represented our academy brilliantly. Their innovative and thoughtful approach to combating climate change showcases creativity, confidence and strong critical thinking. A true credit to #TeamWoodlands!"

Jamie's Farm 2026 🐑

Our 2026 Jamie's Farmers ventured to Wales to spend a week running the farm in Monmouth. The children have shown fantastic resilience and hard work, getting all the jobs done to keep the farm running. We're so proud of all our Jamie's Farmers!

Coming Up at Woodlands 🌳

We've got lots of exciting events and special days coming up. You can visit our school events calendar to see all our upcoming event dates.

The Stardome 🌌

On Tuesday 3rd February, the Stardome (an inflatable planetarium) is coming to Woodlands. All our children in Key Stage 2 will visit the Stardome and travel into space during the day!

Our children and families in Year 1 and 2 are invited to join us after school!

NSPCC Number Day with wacky hair 👩‍🦰

NSPCC Number Day takes place on Friday 6th February! On this day, children can come to school with crazy hair, wearing a hat or a wig!
