Our Big Adventure: Year 5 at High Adventures!
Our Year 5 children just returned from their first-ever residential trip! The children spent three amazing days at High Adventures, and it was a trip they will never forget. For many of our students, this was their first time staying away from home. There were some nervous faces on the bus, but by the time we arrived, everyone was ready for action.
The children didn't just play; they pushed themselves to try things they had never done before. Many children climbed tall traversing walls, reaching for the top even when their legs felt a bit shaky. Others put on helmets and crawled through dark tunnels in the caves. It was a bit spooky, but everyone was very brave. During our team challenges, the children had to work together to solve tricky puzzles, making sure that no one was left behind.
The best part of the trip wasn't just the climbing, it was the kindness. Whenever someone felt scared of the heights or the dark, their friends were there to cheer them on.
"I am so proud of our Year 5s," said Mr Senior. "They showed great grit and looked after one another. This first residential has been a huge success for Woodlands."
By the end of the week, everyone stood a little taller. We learnt that we are stronger than we think, especially when we help our friends. We are so proud of every child who took part. You are all explorers now!
