Warm Weather Update | 23rd June 2026

Warmer Weather Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the weather gets much warmer this week, we want to let you know how we are keeping your children safe and cool.

Following government advice, our academy will stay open. Our team is doing everything we can to make sure our children can learn comfortably.

Here is what we are doing in school:
  • Lots of water: We have set up water stations during break and lunchtimes. Teachers are also giving children extra drink breaks during lessons.
  • Cool clothes: Children should wear their summer uniform, loose white or light coloured t-shirts and shorts. Teachers will ask children to take off school jumpers when it gets warm.
  • Cool classrooms: We are keeping windows open to let fresh air in, turning off lights to reduce heat, and putting fans in classrooms. PE lessons will also be held in the hall where we have fans to keep the air moving. Pupils will also have access to water during PE for hydration breaks.
  • Sun safety: We will encourage children to play in the shade, and we will offer sun cream. Please let teachers know if you’d prefer us not to offer this to your child.

Please send your child to school with a sun hat if they have one.

Signs of Heat Exhaustion
Please check your child for these signs, and we will do the same at school:
  • Feeling much more tired than usual
  • Feeling dizzy or having a headache
  • Feeling sick or vomiting
  • Heavy sweating and cold, sticky skin

If your child shows any of these symptoms at school, we will contact you straight away.

You can see the Government advice we are following here.

Thank you for working with us to keep our community safe and happy.

Kind regards,

Adele Clark
Headteacher
