Our Year 3 pupils enjoyed an exciting outdoor adventure exploring the natural world at RHS Garden Harlow Carr. Linked to their topic on biomes and ecosystems, the children spent the whole day outdoors, bringing their classroom learning to life in the fresh air.

Throughout the day, our explorers discovered how plants grow and thrive together in different environments. The children explored the beautiful grounds, carefully collecting colourful fallen leaves, twigs and natural resources to craft unique leaf cards.

Hands-on experiences are an important part of school life at Co-op Academy Woodlands. The children got stuck in by planting their own salad leaves to take home and care for. Learning outdoors gives our pupils memorable experiences that build curiosity, teamwork and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

The joy of the day was clear to see. One Year 3 pupil shared:

"This has been the best day!"
