Going the Extra Mile: Miss Charles Conquers the London Marathon!

Miss Charles has raised over £600 for our social supermarket, The Pan-Tree!
We are bursting with pride this week at Co-op Academy Woodlands. Our Assistant Headteacher, Miss Charles, traded her school shoes for trainers to take on the incredible challenge of the London Marathon.
Running 26.2 miles is a huge test of resilience and determination. There were moments when the finish line felt far away, but Miss Charles kept going, fuelled by the thought of our community and the pupils she sees every day.
She didn't just run for the medal; she ran for The Pan-Tree, our academy’s social supermarket. Thanks to her hard work and your amazing support, she raised over £600! This money will go directly toward making sure our families have access to the essentials they need.
Miss Charles said:
"The atmosphere in London was electric, but it was the support from everyone back home that really kept me moving. I wanted to show our pupils that if you work hard and stay determined, you can achieve things you never thought possible."
Our Headteacher, Mrs Clark, shared:
"Miss Charles is a true inspiration to us all. She has shown our children that with grit and a positive attitude, no hurdle is too high. She embodies everything we stand for here at Woodlands."
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated. Your kindness shows how much we can achieve when we work together.
