Year 6 Residential 2026

Rain Can't Stop Us: Our Year 6 Adventure at Tawd Vale!
Our Year 6 pupils recently returned from an unforgettable three-day residential trip to the Tawd Vale activity centre in Lancashire. From Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th June, our young adventurers swapped their classrooms for life in the great outdoors, sleeping in tents and embracing nature.
Even though the weather brought plenty of rain, it did not damp our pupils' spirits. Instead, they showed incredible resilience and looked out for one another every step of the way. The children threw themselves into exciting new challenges, including canoeing, fire lighting and fun team-building games. The absolute highlight for many was a brilliant glow-stick party in the dark, filled with laughter and music!
Miss Charles, our Assistant Headteacher, was incredibly proud of how the children handled the damp conditions and stepped outside their comfort zones. She said:
"This was such a positive experience for all of us. The rain didn't stop the children from having a fantastic time. They supported each other, tried things they had never done before and showed just how resilient they truly are."
Trips like this give our pupils the chance to grow, build confidence, and learn how to succeed together as a community. At Co-op Academy Woodlands, we want to give our children safe, supportive opportunities that help them achieve their ambitions in life, not just in school.
Well done Year 6 – you made our whole school community very proud!
