It’s been a short but very busy half-term at Woodlands! There has been lots of great learning happening in every class. Our Year 6 and Year 2 children worked especially hard during their SATs – we are so proud of them for trying their best and showing fantastic resilience!
We’ve had exciting visitors in school and some brilliant trips out too. As always, the children have made us proud with their behaviour, hard work, and kindness. Thank you to all our families for your support.
We hope everyone enjoys a restful and safe half-term break. We look forward to welcoming all families back on Monday 2nd June for the last half-term of this school year.
When we return, we have a special treat for children in Years 3 to 6 – a Drumming Masterclass with Jeff Rich from the band Status Quo! This will take place on the first day back. We will also be celebrating the children in our RESPECT Badge assemblies during the first week, so please look out for more details soon.

Summer Uniform ☀️
We’re excited for the warmer weather! Let’s make sure we can all enjoy the sun safely.
Essentials
- Sun Hat - best with a neck protector
- Sun Cream - apply it before school
Sun Cream
- Keep safe and reapply. Everyone can bring in their own sun cream to use during the day.
Summer uniform
- Stay cool with our summer uniform choices. It’s our day-to-day uniform, with the following options:
- Blue check dress
- Shorts in grey or black
Digital Support for Universal Credit recipients 📱
For our parents and carers who receive universal credit and do not have a smartphone, Miss Heron has the following advice:
Go to the job centre and let them know. You will then get an appointment to see an advisor and there you will receive a letter with a barcode on it. Take this letter to a local Argos and you will get a brand-new Android phone!
Eco Warriors take over Woodlands 🌳♻️
This half term, our fantastic Eco Warriors have been hard at work, planting trees at the front of school starting our orchard and attending the Co-op Academis Eco Conference, sharing their ideas and coming back with lots to do to help Woodlands be more green!
Year 5 visit IntoUniversity 🎓
Our Year 5 children had their first FOCUS Days at IntoUniversity this half-term! They spent the day thinking about their future aspirations and then were set a team challenge in the afternoon. The staff were so impressed with the children's teamwork and problem-solving skills!
Year 6 Bowling Trip
As a reward for their hard work and resilience this half-term, and for doing so well sitting their SATs, Year 6 went bowling this week! Well done Year 6!
World of Work Week: Volunteers Wanted!
We're looking for local business professionals to visit our school during our World of Work Week, taking place 30th June - 4th July, to share their job roles and inspire our pupils!
