We see our children working incredibly hard every day, and we are so proud when they show RESPECT by being kind, using good manners, and trying their best. This time of year is also very exciting because we have fun Christmas events coming soon! Please look out for letters about our Christmas shows, Christmas Jumper Day, and our Christmas Crafternoon. Thank you for helping us make Woodlands a wonderful place!

This week, we said farewell to Miss Heron after 14 years at Woodlands! We cannot thank her enough for all she has done for our children and families over the years. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours But, don’t worry! You’ll still be seeing her around and about as she will still be working with Team Woodlands in her Community Pioneer Role!

The winter season is here, and we know that more coughs and colds start going around at this time of year. It’s completely normal for children to catch little bugs! 🤧

We are keeping school clean ✋

We want to keep all our children healthy and in school so they don't miss out on important learning and fun activities.

Because of this, we are making a special effort in school:

We are washing our hands more often with soap and water or using hand gel.
We are making sure we use tissues for coughs and sneezes ("Catch it, Bin it, Kill it").
We are cleaning surfaces more often.

We ask that you help us by reminding your child to wash their hands as soon as they get home, and before eating.

If your child is unwell 🏡

Sometimes, a child is too unwell to come to school.

If your child can't come to school, please follow our usual absence procedure to let us know.

Missing School? Missing Out! 🎈

We want to see all our students EVERY DAY so they don’t miss out on their learning.

Illness where your child is too poorly to be out of bed. Religious holidays that have been approved as days off school. Any special transport provided by the council has not been provided as it usually is. You have already told us your child will be off and have been given permission for your child to be absent Medical appointments - it is ok to miss school while they are at the doctor/dentist, but once they are finished they should come back to school.	Headaches, coughs or colds, period pains, tummy ache, tiredness A whole day for a medical appointment A holiday or travel for any purpose during term time A sibling or parent being unwell The weather is not good, and you walk to school. A birthday/family event. Slept in and don’t want to be marked as late.
