Dear Parents and Families,
As we reach the final days of 2025, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly remarkable year at Co-op Academy Woodlands. It has been a joy to watch our children grow, learn, and embody our academy’s values of respect, co-operation, and success.
Looking back, the highlights of 2025 remind us of the vibrant and diverse community we share. We kicked off the year with our inspiring "Time to Talk" events and celebrated our second annual Culture Day in May, where we explored the 48 languages spoken within our school and enjoyed a fantastic carnival assembly.
The summer term brought even more excitement, from Year 5’s Little Lifesavers Workshop to a legendary Drumming Masterclass with Jeff Rich from Status Quo. We also cheered on our Year 6 students as they navigated their World of Work Week and triumphed in the Co-op Cup Hockey Tournament. It was also wonderful to welcome The Bank of England to Woodlands, as part of their banknote designing campaign; we even made the national news!
More recently, this autumn has been just as busy. We’ve hosted our first Marvellous Maths morning, seen incredible effort in our annual Spelling Bee, and raised our voices (and funds!) for Children in Need. It was also wonderful to see so many families join us for our recent Christmas performances and "Crafternoons." The festive spirit in school has been truly magical.
We also wanted to celebrate our fantastic children who entered their banner designs as part of the Leeds City Council's Clear Hold Build campaign, with three of our children's designs being chosen! Keep your eyes peeled around and about Harehills to these. They look fantastic!
None of these achievements would be possible without your continued support. Whether it’s ensuring children are in their correct uniform, supporting them to earn their RESPECT badges, or simply cheering them on, you are a vital part of #TeamWoodlands.
On behalf of all the staff, we wish you a very safe, restful, and peaceful Christmas break. We hope you enjoy this time with your loved ones, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.
Happy New Year, and all the very best for a successful and happy 2026!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Clark and the Team at Co-op Academy Woodlands

Spelling Bee Success 🐝
On Friday 12th December, Year 5 and 6 gathered in the hall for our annual spelling bee.
Well done to Labeeb, Gracey and Amy who will be representing Team Woodlands at the Co-op Academies Spelling Bee later in 2026!
